Anaconda Python installation and configuration on Ubuntu

Prerequisites:

Update System package:

# sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Download and install Anaconda Python:

# cd /tmp
# curl -O https://repo.anaconda.com/archive/Anaconda3-5.2.0-Linux-x86_64.sh
# ls -li
# sha256sum Anaconda3-5.2.0-Linux-x86_64.sh
09f53738b0cd3bb96f5b1bac488e5528df9906be2480fe61df40e0e0d19e3d48  Anaconda3-5.2.0-Linux-x86_64.sh
# bash Anaconda3-5.2.0-Linux-x86_64.sh
# source ~/.bashrc
# conda list

Settings for Anaconda Environments

# conda search "^python$"
# conda create --name aareez python=3
# conda create --name aareez python=3.7.0
  • zlib
  • xz
  • tk
  • wheel
  • setuptools
  • sqlite
  • python
  • readline
  • openssl
  • pip
# conda install --name aareez numpy
# source activate aareez
# conda install -c r r-acepack
# source deactivate
# python --version
# conda update python
# conda info --envs
# conda create --name aareez python=3 numpy
# conda remove --name aareez –all
# conda info --envs

Keep updating Anaconda:

# conda update conda
# conda update Anaconda
